    I could have gone 4 stars on the mussels and crab cakes but my wife was not at all happy with a bland grilled mahi that didn't seem to have any of the citrus butter advertised. Good thing we had some of the garlic lemon butter sauce left from the mussels to put on it. The rice was bland there is no presentation and the wine list is weak. We sat outside which is nice and feels a bit upscale. Inside is like a fish camp. With the right choices and a nice night to enjoy outdoor seating I can see 4 stars but they need to step it up. Oh yeah the she crab soup was a disappointment based on other reviews. If you think that she crab soup is good you need to check some proper soup at the Gulfstream a few miles up the beach. Do have say the bread is really good. Came out hot and with the left over mussell sauce had to get seconds on the bread.

    We are here for lunch. The salmon wrap with manderin oranges, spinich & craisins +broccoli salad is outstanding. Fish taco is excellent. Full lunch & Dinner menu every entree unique. Unique cocktails and half price sushi after 4 on Mondays! Don't let that fool you, this is a white linen napkin restaurant with a casual flair.

    I am definitely a fan of this place and look forward to going back on my next visit to the area. For starters, we ordered the $3 margaritas (with house-made margarita mix). They definitely did not skimp on the tequila.Then, we decided to try the coconut shrimp with a house-made spicy/sweet thai-style dipping sauce. I definitely could have made a meal out of this! The problem with this place is deciding what to order. There are so many wonderful sounding options here. I finally settled on the she-crab soup which was creamy and delicious. I also decided to try the King Neptune's Salad. Man, that was a HUGE salad - but quite good. It was a huge bed of salad greens along with diced carrots, tomatos, cucumbers, apples, and cheese. This was topped with fried shrimp, calamari, and fried oysters. I chose the house-made ginger dressing to go with it, which sounds kind of weird, but it worked well with all the flavors. David ended up getting a yumburger stuffed with goats cheese and a sweet chili sauce. He said it was really good. We ended up sitting out on the patio which was cool, because they had live music outside. Our service was great, and the prices were good... I would definitely recommend this place!

    Nice little place! We were there to meet a friend on St. Patrick's Day for lunch and really enjoyed ourselves. Great drink specials - $3 mimosas, bloodies, rum and cokes...there were more but when she said the latter I was all aboard. JR C. got a bloody and said it was excellent - I sipped and I indeed, enjoyed. The menu looks great - the brunch menu was a very solid showing. I had the...like Mad Cow or something omelet and they were totally fine with leaving out the bacon and using egg whites. Also, let me swap out the grit cake for the broc salad. JR C. got the cuban and was pleased, and our friend had a burger and was also pleased. The service was EXCELLENT - the kindest person, she happily baked a role for Pax to eat which I thought was very sweet. The outside patio is cool and shady and actually not that noisy being so close to 17. Inside...I think it's just because it's old, but it smells a bit musty - I think it's the old brick floor. I would definitely choose to sit outside or in the bar area over the dining room. Generally, a very nice spot to land if you're in the area!

    To start, we had a very large group of 11 on a Sunday evening. Overall the food was hit or miss, but the rating is low MOSTLY because of poor service. We went on a recommendation from a member of our group who had enjoyed it earlier in the week. The place is cute, sushi bar and full bar. We ordered drinks and the bartender was very friendly, cocktails from the menu were good. We were seated at a table large enough for all of us, the place was pretty empty except for maybe a table of 4. We were assigned two waiters who explained they were out of the fried chicken. We specifically went for the fried chicken special they have on Sundays, but sometimes these things happen. We ordered apps the she crab soup (very good, very creamy and rich. Not the best ever but one of the highlights of the menu), loaded potato chips (very basic, what you'd expect, still good. It's not a must have here), and fried green tomatoes (okay-definitely have had better from restaurants in the area. The tomatoes were a little bitter). We ordered a cup of the soup of the day, but they said they were out. On to the main course, since they were out of the chicken the fresh seafood was calling us at the sushi bar. Many of us ordered 1-2 rolls for dinner. Also ordered was muscles (delicious. The sauce was heavenly. A must try), grilled shrimp with fresh tomato and basil (pass. The dainty pasta was drowning in greasy garlic sauce, the tomatoes were wilted from it). The food came out sporadically, the head waitress came out to check up on us. We mentioned our disappointment that everyone was being served at different times. She apologized for the lack of communication that the sushi would take a bit longer since there was only one sushi guy. (Her tone was more frustrated than apologetic which was annoying to us). Which is all well and good, but most restaurants would refuse to serve meals at separate times like that (I received my meal last. By the time I received it, the muscles and pasta dishes were finished. It was about a15-20 minute difference). In my opinion, they should have prepared the cold rolls, and as they prepared the two warm rolls the kitchen should have been working to get the two dishes prepared. This way it would have all arrived together. Anyway, the sushi began making its way to the table one roll at a time. The head waitress jumped in at this point to begin serving the rolls but made it to the table and just went "I have something that resembles tuna." This happened twice, perhaps she should have been asking the chef what each was before bringing it to us, and expecting us to know. Once we all FINALLY received our meals we were able to eat. Unfortunately, at this point, we were just looking forward to leaving. The sushi was good, fish was fresh and I'd recommend the Hawaiian roll if you're in a small party. Overall, the service was shotty at best. The staff was pretty friendly, until we mentioned our displeasure on the service. It was reasonably priced but for a $600 bill (11people with drinks) we expected more. This place would probably be great with a table of no more than 4, but don't go expecting to get specials.

    Worth the drive from myrtle beach! This place has great food and excellent homemade bloody Mary's!! The she crab soup was delicious! Crab cakes are great too! They have homemade potato chips, probably better tasting than the French fries.

    We were searching for a good place to eat in Murrells Inlet, and found this little gem on Yelp. When we arrived there was a guy playing guitar and singing...kinda felt bad for him because there was a heat wave on the east coast and he had to be sweltering. None the less it would be fun if the weather was cooler. We started with PEI mussels, which were very good (4/5) and the bread dunked in the sauce was very addicting. I hadn't had a burger in a while, so I thought I'd go with the SWC burger. Very happy with my decision, because it was awesome. Reminded me of a homemade burger with super fresh ingredients. To go with it, I had the broccoli salad which was OMG good. I'm going to try to replicate it at home. My wife got the Mooo salad (heavily modified) and liked it. Mother and Father in-law got a burger and the fish-n-chips respectively. She loved the burger, but he thought the fish and chips were just okay. To finish, we got the homemade key lime pie.....my mother in law is a key lime pie fanatic and it was great. Overall, this was the best dinner we had in the area. I would come back here anyday!

    Tonight was my first time eating at Salt Water Creek. I went with my sister and her friend and we all three thoroughly enjoyed our meal AND service. I've eaten at a lot of restaurants on the grand strand as I was born and raised here. I have to say, this restaurant is exceptional! Not only were our dishes fresh and tasty, they were priced very well. The portions are big which make great leftovers so no big deal! The restaurant wasn't overly loud which was very refreshing and Doug (their musician for the restaurant) was playing background music and it was wonderful (he's very talented). I'd like to mentioned one last thing. Along with a good meal, good service is a HUGE thing. Our waitress was Cindy B. and she was absolutely delightful. Not only was she patient, she was helpful, friendly, professional and an overall A+++ server. Thank you Salt Water Creek for an overall 5 star experience, I will be coming back!

    Our first year, we dined based on a Yelp review and could not have been more pleased. 3rd year, and it's an annual favorite. Very casual, but food is extremely good. Definitely a must-visit location. BTW, wine choices are both great and reasonable.

    I knew I was in for an interesting dining experience when I sat beneath the live oak clothed in Spanish moss and a young man fired up his steel drums to give us stirring renditions of our fave top 40 hits as we dined. The she crab soup sounded like a local special, so we gave that a shot. Tasted quite nice, but considering it was more of a cream sauce than a soup (read: butter), it wasn't difficult to like. Soup consisted of mostly crab, butter and cream, not much of a presence of vegetables in there. I do credit SWCC for putting healthy helpings of crab in there. Ordered a pizza and a salad, but waited 25 minutes for their arrival. Too long for simple items. Pizza was of the Totino's variety and didn't impress. Salad was simply tossed together with not much craft involved. I will acknowledge that the salad used fresh, green lettuce and was well balanced. Food and service would only bring two stars. But you, sir; you, rocking Pokerface on the steel drums, and then blowing me away by following it with the theme from Phantom of the Opera? You were your own bright shining star and added it to Salt Water Creek Cafe's other two. Who can resist the music of the night?

    the she crab soup was good and the bread came out warm. Walked in and should have known by the smell of old grease it was time to leave. Everything on the menu is fried, over battered, and can't be fresh. The oil was old, the entrees were ruined, and everything is over priced. Do yourself a favor and pass on. This is over rated for sure. If you are in the area just proceed to murrals inlet and eat by the water. Won't be going back anywhere near this place.

    We decided to spend a day at Brookgreen Gardens (about a mile south of this restaurant), and it was convenient to stop here on our way back to the hotel. We arrived shortly after 4 pm for the early-bird dinner and, I have to say, everything was wonderful. My wife loved the she-crab soup and the filet mignon. Both were perfect in her estimation. I had batter-fried vegetables (tomatoes, zucchini, okra, and portobello mushrooms) and a margarita pizza. The vegetables were first rate; the pizza was better than average (but only $6!). Their wine list is well considered and well priced. The best Zin on the list was a reasonable $20. Service was friendly and helpful. I'm a vegetarian and the waiter redirected me from the spinach soup (chicken base) to the vegetable appetizer. The owner came out and chatted with us for about 5 minutes, which is always a thoughtful touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We visit Myrtle Beach 3 times a year, and look forward to returning here. Prior to seeing this restaurant on YELP, we had always eaten at one of the touristy restaurants further out on Merrill's Inlet. Give them a pass, and stop in here instead. You'll be pleased.

    My husband had the filet mignonette and I had the "Moo" salad (strips of roast beef and portobello mushrooms over mixed greens, tomatoes and blue cheese). Both were very good. The key lime pie was excellent. The wait staff was pleasant and helpful. We will be back!

    The food was superb! There were 11 of us, and we all loved our food. The Mason Dixon Pizza tasted like pimento cheese and bacon (which it pretty much is), though do split it with a friend. Unlike others, Tori was fine as a server.

    We had the big daddy mac and cheese for an appetizer which was amazing but our entrees weren't very appetizing. The crab cake sandwich and the pulled pork sandwich were what we had. The lobster looked great though!

    This place is the highest rated place on Yelp within 20 miles of Murrells Inlet SC. I am a little worried about the rest of the week and where we are going to eat if that is the case. Service was fine, no awards here, but no complaints either. 3$ Early Bird drink specials are tasty, stick with the margarita. Sushi and She Crab Soup were AWESOME! Grilled Fish Tacos, bland, Grouper Francaise looked fried, but tasted pretty good. Kids food was average and they ran out of the sherbet pops the waiter promised with freezer burned ice cream cups. I wish I could rate a 2.5 but feel the need to bring the rating down for everyone else. We will be back to the Salt Creek Cafe. It's just a little bit better.

    Thursday is $7 Burger Day so we decided to try two of their specialty burgers - the Yum Burger w/goat cheese and Thai chili sauce and the Heathcliff w/homemade pimento cheese, bacon, lettuce & tomato. Outstanding! Honestly better than I can do at home and that's saying something. Our server, LeAnne was pleasant and attentive. We're locals who will definitely come back again and soon.

    We had a lovely lunch outside on the patio overlooking and under the huge majestic live oak. I had the blackened mahi tacos and my Mom had the she crab soup. We enjoyed both. We also enjoyed the home-made potato chips. Friendly service from the hosts to the server. Classy local place. A great afternoon!

    I like the atmosphere of this place and enjoyed my dinner right by the fire! The live musician really set the mood too. Our server was really great! I ordered the Aloha Burger which has avocado and pineapple on it. I really loved the interesting combination of flavors. I didn't exactly love my burger but I think they were going for a smokey flavor which it definitely had. My burger was cooked perfectly medium! It's so hard to find a place that cooks a burger right so I was really happy about this. They have a big sushi menu too and some other dishes that I'd love to try when I go back.

    LOVE this place! We stop in every time we visit Myrtle Beach and are never disappointed. In fact, we just got home from a week's vacation and ate there 3 times! The menu is packed with good stuff. Sometimes large menus mean red flags as not everyone can be good at every kind of food, but we've yet to eat a bad meal. The salads are our favorites- large, fresh, homemade dressings...The pizzas are good- we get one as an app to eat with our salads. Sandwiches for lunch are delicious- we especially love the Cuban and the Moo. Sunday brunch is good, too- especially the egg items. If I had to come up with a negative, I will say that their pancakes aren't anything amazing- a little bit on the dense, heavy side and without much flavor- but other than that, all is good! Sit outside under the huge oak tree- it's always shady and nice. And the staff is super knowledgeable and very friendly. ENJOY!

    Looks expensive and it can be but you can also get less expensive options. I highly suggest the crab cake sandwich on English muffin. Outside seating available but it was too hot for that option on our visit in August. Our waiter wasn't very happy with life but otherwise a great stop. This place is on our list of places to return to while vacationing in the area. Single people - this would be a decent place to take a date.

    As good as my lunch was here, I couldn't help but notice that had I arrived on a Saturday or Sunday for brunch, I could have been eating Nutella-stuffed french toast with a kir royale. Think about that. I certainly did. Back to reality, though. I had a nice lunch here recently - a delicious shrimp and grit cake appetizer, a chicken wrap - fresh, no microwave-y chicken bits and iceberg lettuce spines - served with homemade potato chips, and a $3 mimosa. The menu features a good selection of sandwiches, pizzas, and seafood entrees, as well as festive fruity beverages, and they all looked tasty. A good place for an upscale casual meal in Murrells Inlet.

    Bland at best. The swordfish was overcooked, tough, and underseasoned. The grouper needed seasoning as well. Mahi was OK. Salads were good especially the buttermilk chive dressing. Probably not on the list for a repeat visit.

    We went to Salt Water Creek for Sunday brunch and were totally blown away by the experience. This area does not have many unique brunch options so when I found this gem online we had to check it out. The indoor area is very nice and I saw a sushi bar in the corner, but given the beautiful morning we choose the outdoor seating area. The patio feels like it is part of nature, nestled under a large oak tree with lots of mature coastal landscaping surrounding you. Our server came out immediately and delighted us with their $3 brunch cocktail menu which included mimosas, bloody marys, and cuba libres. Each of us got a bloody mary and it was the best $3 drink I have had in a long time. Full of flavor, rimmed with Old Bay, and a solid dose of vodka these are a bargain! The brunch menu looked great from top to bottom with a very diverse range of offerings. Several different benedicts, omelets, french toast and more. We settled on the surf and turf benedict which came with one muffin topped with fillet and the other with grilled shrimp, both topped with eggs and hollandaise. I got the lobster and asparagus omelet which was huge and I swear had an entire small lobster tail in it. Both of us got their grit cake which is amazing - grits that are pattied and slightly deep fried with their creek gravy (also excellent). The food was done very well and the ingredients tasted and looked fresh and high quality. Looking through the rest of their menu, they offer an equally delicious sounding lunch and dinner experience. The combination of atmosphere, menu, and pricing are among the best I've had for brunch and strongly recommend you try this place next time you are in the area!

    The atmosphere of this place is really cool... it reminds me of an old plantation house that was converted into a fish house at some point... however, the similarities to a fish house stop there... they have some pretty high end and creative dishes, but the price is entirely reasonable... The staff is incredibly nice and accommodating... our waiter was obviously a little overworked, but he still managed to keep my party of 4 content... when he wasn't there, the host was there to get us drinks or bread... you normally don't have a host or hostess go that extra step, so that made me feel good... I had the "manga" chicken, which is a chicken breast, breaded and fried... stuffed with ricotta and some other cheese... covered in marinara AND alfredo, served over fettuccine... really good, but save some room because it's a big one :) They had a guy playing guitar and singing in the main room... soft, quiet, mostly country and soft rock... I didn't mind him, but he felt a little out of place... like a roadside performer in front of a busy store... Beer selection was decent... standard domestics and Hoegaarden on tap, which is a nice surprise... All in all, I would definitely go back... the whole trip was a good experience...

    Loved this place!! We were looking for a place for Sunday Brunch in Murrells Inlet. Options for brunch there was limited in Murrell's inlet. Glad we finally found this place, best brunch I have had in a long time. I got the Lox, Chives, and Cream Cheese Omelet, it was amazing. My favorite part of my meal was the grit cake that came on the side, it has this cream sauce on top that was soo good. Best way to do grits as a breakfast side. My boyfriend got the Surf n Turf Eggs Benedict...so good. Loved the atmosphere and our server was very good too. I want to try out this place for lunch and dinner too..their menu looked awesome!!

    A real gem. I grew up in the South Carolina low country but live in Maryland now. After vacationing in Charleston we drove up the coast, stopping to see the magnificent Brookgreen Gardens, which are just south of Salt Water Creek Cafe. We found SWCC on Yelp, and we weren't disappointed. Great food and terrific service. Everyone in our family of five loved it. As I said, I grew up in the South Carolina low country and I know how "this food" is supposed to be. Salt Water Creek Cafe is terrific.

    Gourmet comfort food, casually elegant setting, friendly and helpful staff...this place is a standout among seafood buffets and tourist traps! My five stars are based on one visit, I admit. (Additional props came from my mother and aunt, who have been a few times and have raved about the food and service.) However, growing up along the Grand Strand and coming to expect the mediocrity of chain restaurants and high-turnover feeding troughs, I was blown away by Salt Creek. I was there for an early dinner two weeks ago. When I walked in, the decor and artwork made the first positive impression. This place feels like the beach, but not Jimmy Buffet's beach. It's more the West Elm catalog with a little dash of Martha Stewart. The photography is striking. The fireplace is welcoming. The linens and dishes are beautiful, and the attention to detail which you notice immediately makes you think "I hope the food is as good." It is. We had a steamed artichoke (perfectly prepared), I had the three cheese mac n' cheese because it was a cold and rainy evening. The coffee was delicious. Our waiter was wonderful. The owner checked on us, and all the tables. Needless to say, the next time I'm at home, I'm making it a priority to visit Salt Creek. There are many wonderful things on the menu that I can't wait to try.

    Most places cannot offer a diverse menu and do it all well, but Salt Creek Cafe pulls it off. They have everything thing from Seafood & Sushi to Pizza (only $6 each on Wednesday!). I returned here twice while I was on vacation. Everything was cooked to perfection and very reasonably priced. Service was good to boot.

    This place was a wee bit snooty, and the waiter didn't seem too pleased to see us. Maybe we were dressed too casually. But the place is really nice, the decor is lovely, and the food is excellent. I had a shrimp poboy and it was better than those I've had in New Orleans. My husband and son both had the crabcake sandwich and we all loved it. The best part of the meal though was the banana pudding (Ana Banana Pudding). It's made with Pecan Sandies instead of Nilla Wafers, and is just yummy.

    I really enjoyed the shrimp and grits as my appetizer. It had a light creamy gravy and some spice to the shrimp rub. A nice piece of blackened trout for dinner and homemade key lime pie for desert that was nice and tart. It is pretty rare that I even get dessert when I go out but everything else was so good I could not resist.

    This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. They have a range of dishes, from large entrees to sandwiches and salads. I had a salmon sandwich, which was delicious. My husband had an angus beef hamburger on an engish muffin that actually came just as he ordered it--medium rare. We thought the quality of food and reasonable prices made it a standout and we came back for dinner two nights later. Again, my husband had a hamburger and it was just as good. The prices of the mixed drinks, desserts, etc. are very reasonable.

    Today went for lunch and it was just so so. Two of us ordered the grilled shrimp wrap. It's listed on the menu as a wrap with shrimp, spinach, pineapple, avocado, and jack cheese. Ours had no avocado and no cheese. I should have sent it back but wasn't sure until I double checked the menu when I got home. Prices for lunch are reasonable. Dinner can be a little pricey if you're not careful. Margaritas are very good. This is one of my favorite places normallly, but it's not always consistent.

    I stopped in for a late lunch here with my family - we were the only ones there around 2:30pm. There's a pretty sizable indoor dining area along with a nice little patio outside, which unfortunately looks right out on Hwy 17. The brick fence does help a little. Food was fantastic overall - we got the shrimp and grit cake appetizer, a blackened salmon sandwich with mac and cheese, and a fried chicken wrap with homemade potato chips. For me, the appetizer was the best part of the meal. Two perfect grit cakes, generously topped with shrimp and covered in a light gravy. My salmon sandwich was excellent, though the mac and cheese was a bit dry. The fried chicken wrap had actual fried chicken inside, not frozen chicken tenders you might find elsewhere. Service was attentive and informative, and prices were reasonable (I failed to mention the $2 New South 16oz drafts and $3 cocktails that were on special). I look forward to coming back to try more.

    FANTASTIC! I ordered the shrip and grits and it was well within some of the best that I have had. I will definitely go back for them the next time I am in town. I also had the she-crab soup which is one of the best I have ever had also! My girlfriend had the fish tacos but she didn't think they were very good. I didn't taste them but we just had fish tacos at Creek Ratz the day before so I trust her judgement. She did love her she-crab soup just like I did though. We both ordered drinks as we were there during happy hour so I got the Mojito and she had the Bloody Mary. Neither of us enjoyed our cocktails - neither was made correctly. In fact she didn't even finish hers and that is totally unlike her. I would go for the food and a bottled beer next time. Also, fabulous outdoor seating atmosphere!

    Stopped in for Sunday lunch. Fried chicken was the special so we both ordered it. Wow! The plate was overflowing with 3 pieces of lightly breaded, perfectly seasoned chicken, real mashed potatoes, homemade cole slaw and savory garlic gravy. All for $13. The waitress was fantastic and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We will definitely come back for more.

    Lovely spot in Murrells Inlet. We dined for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. We sat outdoors which was very pleasant. The server was professional and attentive. The food was good for brunch food. I hope to return for dinner.

    the oyster shooters are an absolute must - they go down so well with vodka, you will want to share with friends and order yet another tray, we did ;-) My son ordered a doctored BLT quesadilla and it was AWESOME. She crab soup was yummy. Sushi deal on (which day?) was a good deal.

    We, husband and I, went here for lunch on Sunday afternoon. My husband had SWC grits and gravy (appetizer) it was WONDERFUL; I had homemade chips - they were very good and a plate full! For our entrees - fish tacos, they were good but the tacos were small and a bit skimpy on the fish. Our other entree was MacDaddy mac and cheese with ham and bacon. There was far too much ham in the food for my liking; there was enough flavor with just the bacon. Next time I will request it without the ham. The service was friendly and attentive. We would definitely go back!

    We have been here 3 times. The place is really nice inside.. the service is also wonderful. The food though is just okay if that. I will be honest I don't like the menu. I never see anything I want to eat and every time I get something I do not care for it. A group of us went last time and no one was really overly impressed. Everything has always very clean and pretty.. just not anything special. We won't be back.

    I loved this place! The atmosphere is casual and relaxed and the noise level is relatively low. The outdoor patio area is super cute with a big mossy oak tree that adds to the ambience. The waiter was very nice and friendly. I ordered she-crab soup- highly recommended! The King Neptune salad was also very good (and huge!). This is the kind of place where I would feel comfortable hanging out and chatting for a few hours. I'll definitely be back!

    I passed this place on Highway 17 dozens of times and never paid it a lick of attention. Then I saw a commercial for it, and decided to visit the website. Looked good, and the family agreed. They have inside and outside dining with a nice relaxing atmosphere. The staff was friendly and we had a great server. They have a small wine list, and a full bar. They were very fairly priced, and I feel like you almost never find that anymore. For appetizers we had the calamari and the salt creek grits. They were both great. The grit cakes were large and very filling! For entrees we had the Cuban sandwich, the Manga! Chicken, and 2 surf and turf's. When we looked at the menu online, it showed several items that were no longer on the menu at the actual restaurant. The Surf and Turf was one of those. However, they happily accommodated our special request. Everything was very good- no leftovers! For dessert we had the Milky Way brownie, with extra ice cream! The Key Lime Pie and the Ana Banana Pudding. They were all delicious. Overall we had a great dining experience here. I would highly recommend this place to someone who wants a great dining experience in Murrells Inlet, but wants to avoid the crowds that you will find along the Marsh Walk in Murrells Inlet.

The early bird menu is a great deal and the she-crab soup with fresh baked crusty bread is awesome. Pizza to filet are all great!

    I and the family had dinner last night. The Coconut Shrimp is awesome. The Sweet Thai Chile dipping sauce adds to the enjoyment. Great dinner music outdoors by Doug Frankhauser. Only suggestion would be to invest in either bug candles or bug zapper for the outdoor seating.

    This place is very nice. We walked in and were able to catch the end of happy hour which was a nice surprise. We had a $3 wine and a 2.50$ fat tire. The crab cakes were excellent and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We sat outside and it was lovely!

    I'm having a hard time understanding why this place got so many good reviews, and comments about being one of the best restaurants around Myrtle Beach. I guess if you are comparing it to the All-You-Can-Eat buffets around here, then it is pretty good but that's not really saying much. We stopped by for an early dinner (after seeing a matinee movie) so we were able to take advantage of the Early Bird menu. While this got us out of there for less than $55 for an appetizer, 3 entrees and 2 alcoholic beverages, we didn't leave feeling we got a great deal; more like we got exactly what we paid for. When we arrived around 430pm, there were probably only 6 other tables occupied and our server readily available. By 5pm the place was packed and our server was no where to be found. We waited 10 minutes for our check and finally had to ask another server to take our credit card because we wanted to leave. Thank goodness they provide water carafes on the table so you can refill yourself or we would have been in trouble. Here is a rundown of our dinner: Bloody Mary - I'm not convinced this contained any alcohol at all. It had a little spice to it, but I can make a better one at home using Zing Zang mix. It only cost $3, but that's about all it was worth. Bourbon & Ginger Ale - Jim Beam is the house bourbon and this was a strong drink. It was $3 as well, and we probably should have ordered more. Calamari - The light breading was nice. Not all of the pieces were overcooked, but some were a bit too chewy for my liking. The thai chili dipping sauce was good, but I think Trader Joe's sells it. Grouper Francaise - Two pieces of grouper that look like fried fish. I wanted the parmesan breading to be good, but the parmesan flavor was so prominent that it overpowered the flavor of the fish. You honestly would not have known you were eating fish if you couldn't see it. The mashed potatoes were good as were the honey glazed carrots. Mahi Tacos (Blackened) - The mahi was good but that was about it. The salsa was a bit spicy but tasted like it came from a jar. The guacamole was an embarrassment to avocados; definitely not made in the restaurant. The rice and black beans were just so-so. Nothing special. Two people in our party of 3 would return and try other entrees...but I personally will pass. There are too many other restaurants to try.

    Fantastic spot off the beach. We were traveling through and it seemed to be a very popular spot with the local residents. The goat cheese and sweet chili burger was fantastic and my wife's Cobb salad was large and fresh. We will definitely visit on our next trip to SC.

    Delicious food, excellent customer service and a casual, comfortable, modern atmosphere. The Crab bisque was so flavorful and had a lot of meat! The creaminess of the soup was impressively smooth and not too heavy. Our waitress was very quick, attentive and knowledgable. They kindly accommodated our large group of 45, gave us enough staff and everything was smooth and fast! You can tell everything is homemade... From the soups, to the salad dressings and maybe even the complementary bread! So good! That's a big deal since so many restaurants take short cuts. I highly recommend, no- I insist! You must get the shrimp and grits appetizers! The grits are grilled into patty form and the shrimp is stupid good! The sauce is yummy too :) I could have eaten two of these apps by myself!

    I would NOT recommend this place. The service was extremely slow. We sat down at 630pm and didn't even get our order in until 715ish.... We finally received our food an hour later and it was not good. I ordered the mahi tacos and they tasted old like they had been sitting under the heated light for a while. This happened to other people at our table who ordered other entrées Overall it was not the best dining experience and we will not be returning. But I will say this.. the owner/manager came out because he noticed we were dissatisfied and gave us two complimentary key lime pies. It was a great gesture and I hope the pies are better than the food.

    Came here on a Monday night with a party of 6. The half price sushi rolls were tasty and a great deal. Best she crab soup and coconut shrimp we've had. All of the fried food we had - oysters, fish, shrimp - was well done. The outdoor setting under a huge Spanish moss covered tree was beautiful and relaxing. We were too full for dessert but got the key lime pie to go. It was also very good. Disappointments were the rice that came on the side of most dishes - it was underdone, crunchy and bland. Ask for mashed potatoes instead. If you're not a seafood eater, it may be difficult to find a good option. We tried the chicken with goat cheese and it was fine but not exciting. Don't remember our server's name unfortunately, but she did an excellent job, especially as some members of our party can be difficult.

    Portions of fish are small. Crab cakes are small And overcooked made without lump crab meat. Waiter spent time telling us about the nightly special only to end the description with "unless you called in a reservation for the blue plate special it is not available". Huh? Drinks for three dollars are the highlight. Not on or near the water. Potato chips with cheese and bacon overlooked with far too little diced cheese or artificial bacon bits. Skip this app. There are too many other places to eat to go back here.

    Came in on Friday night at 530pm. We were quickly seated. A waitress quickly came with waters, took our drink and appetizer order. The she crab soup was tasty, definitely fresh crab. The salads came quickly with bread. Also pretty good. I got the salmon with lemon pesto, it was very good and fresh tasting. The boyfriend got the crab cakes and he thought they tasted fresh and we're good. His mashed potatoes were awesome! Service was fast and friendly!

    Our party of 11 dined here during our last night of our family vacation. Several in our party commented that it was the best meal of the entire trip. The service was flawless, and the food was excellent. There was enough variety in the menu so that even the pickiest of our diners could find something they enjoyed. There were also plenty of offerings for the more sophisticated customer.

    A very good restaurant in Murrels Inlet that appears to have avoided being bombarded by tourists like the Murrels Inlet Boardwalk. Was a little surprised to be asked if we had reservations when we arrived at 4:30pm and the place seemed empty. We were promptly seated outside so no big deal. Our appetizers, main dishes, and deserts were all very good and of high quality. Even the key lime pie connoisseur was very impressed with SWC's pie. Will definitely make sure this restaurant gets added to the family's rotation when visiting the area.

    Woke up dreaming of crab cake eggs Benedict. After extensive hangover research I found this place online. Arrived and was informed they only serve my precious crab cake Benedict on Saturdays. Our sweet waitress told the manager of our almost Harold and Kumar journey and he allowed the kitchen to make our crab cake dream come true. They delivered exactly what I was hoping for. Great food.     Nice casual dining in Murrells Inlet. They were pretty busy but our waiter did a great job keeping up with our dining experience. I had chicken over spinach. Chicken thin & crispy with great flavor. We also ordered pizza which was a great thin crispy crust, loaded potato skins topped with homemade pimento cheese. Would recommend for couples or families. Very reasonably priced & comfortable atmosphere & knowledgeable staff.

    We were a party of 7. We came in and had wonderful service. The food was fantastic! We had such a great experience we made reservations to come back on Friday night! Three of the people from our group had the she crab soup and LOVED it. We also tried the potato skins. They were the best I've ever had! Three of the other people in our group had the Tuesday night special of ribs. They were so juicy and tender. They literally fell right off of the bones! Everyone should check it out!

    Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Arrived: 1pm This place had some great food and service! A tiny place just off the highway (look for SWC instead of the full name or you'll miss it!). Waitress was very friendly and the food was served quick. The Chicken Feta wrap was tasty as well as the Cuban Panini. The homemade chips tasted just a bit on the over-toasted side, but still good with the dip. Atmosphere was on the blander side as the tables were just plain wood chairs and simple table, and also had some booths. Overall a very good place for a tasty lunch!

    We brought our toddler here for dinner (we also ate). The service was great, very quick. Our food was delicious and served quickly. Sorry, the review is a month after our visit so I don't remember precisely what we ate. The restaurant was 3/4 full, but we were sat immediately and served expeditiously. We are sure to return.

    Loved this place. Great, creative choices. Why 4 stars and not 5? She crab soup too thick and pastie. PLUS , LOBSTER WAS SERVED WITH A FAKE TASTING AWFUL BUTTER. Everything else was probably the best food I have had in this area.

    We just stumbled across this spot on our drive from Myrtle Beach to Charleston. Saw it listed on Yelp and that it had good reviews so decided to give it a chance. I'm so happy we picked Salt Water Creek Cafe! This place was just amazing. It looks like a very large house and nothing too special from the outside. Inside has brick floors and a very relaxing, open atmosphere. The servers were wonderful. They were friendly and gave excellent service. My boyfriend ordered the Chicken Feta Wrap with french fries and loved it! I chose the Cuban Panini with the homemade chips and it was absolutely delicious! I don't live near enough to become a regular but if they were local to me...I definitely would!

    Just had brunch here, and can sum up the experience in one word: underwhelming. Oh, and a rude hostess. The hostess did not greet us as she was too busy texting. When she noticed us, all she said was "inside or outside?" She led us to a table, set down menus, and walked away. Maybe she's having a bad day? Luckily, our waitress was very friendly. We decided to order the filet eggs Benedict and the salmon eggs Benedict. Turns out, they didn't have salmon today. Sigh. So we chose the crab cake Benedict. Food was okay. The English muffins were impossible to cut through with the provided fork and knife. The filet was overcooked. Grit cake and gravy were pretty good though. On our way out, the hostess ignored us as she was, again, busy with her cellphone. I would've given three stars had the hostess at least cracked a smile or said hello/goodbye. But at least our waitress was nice.

    My family visited for dinner without a reservation. We were told to expect a 30-45 minute wait for indoor seating, but could sit outdoors immediately, and chose that option. We were initially seated outside of the overhang on the side of the building. Our server arrived quickly and was very friendly and accommodating to our children's requests. When he brought our salads and soup, some flies arrived to annoy us. We asked our server if we could move under the overhang where there were ceiling fans and he accommodated us as soon as a table was cleared. No problem with flies there. The she crab soup was excellent and our salads fresh and tasty. My older daughter ordered the crab cakes and they were delicious. My wife and I ordered off the Early Bird menu - she got the mahi mahi and I got the salmon, and both portions were perfect and around $13.00 each. Both were delicious. We had read that the banana pudding was a great dessert so we shared that and enjoyed it. Overall a very nice, relaxed place with friendly service and tasty food. If you need an early dinner they have great specials on their early bird menu from 4 to 6 p.m.

    Was a little disappointed. I expected better from a place with 4 stars average. I can only give it 2 stars based on my experience. My cocktail was watered down. Fish (salmon) was over cooked. M&C was over cooked and the cheese was clumpy. But the service was great and staff was friendly.

    The Good 1. Our server was nice and was attentive. 2. The broccoli salad was fresh and had tasty bacon pieces in it. 3. It was spacious and good for big parties. The not so Good 1. The shrimp po'boy came with little tiny pieces of shrimp. It was fried in a tasteless batter. It also came with sauce on the side, which didn't taste bad but not what I expected. It was just a honey Dijon spread. 2. The flat bread pizza was tasteless. I think it could have used more garlic in the sauce or some basil?

    Definitely the low point of our vacation. To start off... the ambiance and staff were fine. No major props but no issues either. The food however, is a different story. We ordered the calamari appetizer. It wasn't sliced properly and I SWEAR we had 2 whole baby squid on the plate. The ones that were sliced were thick and chewy. I ordered the Bleu Moo. It was steak with bleu cheese and grilled onions. I requested it be cooked Medium to Medium well. When I got my plate the steak was not even warm. I told our waitress it was not hot and she took it away and brought it back. I'm pretty sure it had just been shoved in a microwave. It also came with a baked potato which was fine and sauteed broccoli which was not fine. It was completely without seasoning and also not hot. Boyfriend got the Popeye burger with spinach and Gouda. He also asked for his burger to be medium and it came about ridiculously red in the middle. It was also pretty expensive. It was $57 for two people. We will not be going back here ever again.

    We wanted to take our friends out for dinner & they wouldn't hear of it & told us they were taking us for dinner. Well upon arriving at the SWCC we were greeted & shown a table. Our Friends raved about the place so we were excited . The food was bland & both I & the Mrs said we would never go back. It was Gross!
